Congratulations Students

Kyu testing is only a snapshot of your karate knowledge and execution. We all train to improve and to learn. Karate training should never end, it should be a part of who your are. Kyu testing shows what areas need improvement to master the art of Shotokan Karate. Tests in Karate are not like tests in school... pass or fail! You never fail in Karate, you train, and some, if not all karateka need more training... that includes your sensei!

Keep Training!

New ISKF Kyu Examinations
The Technical Committee of the ISKF
has made corrections to the Kyu tests.

The link above is a copy of those results. Please study them for your own personal training inside and outside of the dojo.
Be prepared... know your own karate at your own level.

Kyu test incorporates basic techniques followed by kata
(the kata that the student is
training for their belt level).
Then it finishes with kumite (controlled sparring).
